Digital Artist Gianna Marín Cotto
was born in 2004, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was diagnosed with Autism at four years old. She started to draw when she was three years old. At first, she started to draw scribbles. After that, she began drawing dragons inspired by Animal Planet program about Dragons. She also liked to draw what she called “shadow bunnies,” which were black silhouettes of rabbits with black markers on paper. Later, she became interested in Dinosaurs and started to draw them and memorize their names. When she was seven, she was inspired by the music & image of Deadmau5 and by the Lego Legends of Chima characters. In April 2013, she won an art contest for an Album cover of several Puerto Rican bands and artists called Batiscafo Volume 18. After that, she changed the subject to Five Nights at Freddy’s and drew a lot stuff related to them. In 2016, she became interested in anime drawing and Pokemon. Next year, she started to develop a style in which she mixed the anime style of Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and Spanish-Puerto Rican artist Angel Botello. After Hurricane Maria, Gianna moved to Florida and continued to do her Anime/Botello-Art style, creating her Houndmouse characters art that was exhibited at the Dr.Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in 2023 and the Lake County Museum of Art in 2024.
